Project meeting in Belchin Banya on 10th and 11th July 2014

On July 10th and 11th took place the next project meeting of project “Together against violence” which is funded by DAPHNE III Programme of European Union. The place of the meeting was in Belchin Banya and the experts from the three partner organizations (FICE-Bulgaria, Resilis foundation from Spain and the Federal Association of therapeutic communities from Austria) have gathered to discuss the recommendations for decreasing the repeated violence of children.
The recommendation’s team continued their work on the recommendations of implementing new standards and legislation on the topics of prevention of repeated violence by children, improving the residential and post-residential care services. The recommendations are aimed at supporting the process of reforming the system of work with children in conflict with the law, in order to improve their chances of better life and development.
The second group of dissemination experts and coordinators have continued their work on preparation of the national conferences on which will be presented the National reports on factors contributing to violent acts by children, legal regime and status of the national systems of child care services in the three countries. On the national conferences will be presented also the Recommendations for developing of standards and legal regulations in the field of prevention of repeated violence by children, improving the residential services for them as well as the post-residential work with children.
Important part of the meeting was the negotiation and setting up the dates and schedule for the National conferences in each of the participating countries. The conference of the Federal Association of therapeutic communities from Austria will take place in Krems on 15th and 16th September 2014. The conference of foundation Resilis will take place on 2nd and 3rd October in Madrid and the conference of FICE-Bulgaria on 15th and 16th October in Sofia.
The final international conference of the project will take place in Barcelona on 05th and 06th November 2014, right before the Federal council of FICE-Inter. In the international conference are expected to participate experts not only from Europe, but also from other continents. It is scheduled to be adopted a document on the topic of children, repeated perpetrators of violence and to be placed a focus on the importance of the work with them and their families.
During the two-day meeting were conducted interviews with all experts and coordinators, by the external project evaluator – Jivka Marinova.
The responsibility for the coordination of the project on behalf of the leading organization FICE-Bulgaria is on Alexander Milanov and responsible for the project management is Dashenka Kraleva – president of FICE-Bulgaria and president of FICE-Inter.
